Mr. Muhammad Sarmini is the acting President and the founder of Jusoor Center for Studies.
Mr. Sarmini contributed to the founding of most of the Syrian national institutions. Previously, he assumed the position of an advisor to the prime minister of the Syrian Interim Government. He has been in several administrative and political positions since 2005.
Abdulwahhab Assi is a senior research fellow at Jusoor Center for Studies.
Previously, Mr. Assi worked in the political affairs in many media outlets (written and audio) in Syrian and Arab institutions. He also worked in local organizations in Syria. He studied at the Faculty of Economics at Aleppo University. Currently, he is studying history at Gaziantep University.
Wael Olwan is a senior research fellow at Jusoor Center for Studies
He has a B.A. in Arabic Language and Literature from Damascus University. He previously worked as an Arabic teacher, and he is specialized in active learning.
Mr. Olwan studied political science and international relations while he was working in media and political fields in Syrian opposition-run outlets.
He volunteered in community learning activities at UNESCO. After the Syrian Revolution erupted, he worked in the Syrian Arab Red Crescent. Mr. Olwan also participated in the opposition delegation to the Geneva negotiations in 2017.
Khaled al-Terkawi is a researcher and lecturer in the field of economics. He has a masters degree in International Economic Relations from Damascus University. He has published several research papers and authored several books, including “The Use of the Internet in the Field of Scientific Research” and “The Demographic Change in Syria and its Impact on the Syrian Economy”.
Firas Fahham is a senior research fellow at Jusoor Center for Studies. He studied at the Faculty of Law at Aleppo University. Mr. Fahham has a 4-year experience in the field of information reporting in social media. He worked as the chief editor of a Syrian News Network. He published several research papers related to the history of the Syrian popular movement and the Syrian revolution, in cooperation with several Arab centers for studies.
Majd Kilani is an assistant researcher, specialized in data collection. He is also specialized in military factions’ affairs and local armed conflicts. He is an expert in geographics. He has a B.A. in economics, the University of Aleppo.
Abbas Sharifa is a non-resident researcher specialist in the affairs of Islamic groups. He has a diploma in political science from Sabah Al-Din Al-Zaim University. He also has a Bachelor degree in Sharia - Damascus University.
Mr. Sharifa authored many books. He is also a trainer in intellectual programs. He worked for several media outlets and in training courses.
Ibrahim Olabi is a British-German lawyer specialized in Syrian affairs. He is originally from Syria.
He has a LLB & LLM, Security and International Law, University of Manchester. Mr. Olabi is currently studying for an M.A. in Public Policy at the College of Government/University of Oxford. He is currently working on international and local cases related to crimes committed in Syria.
Mr. Olabi is a member of the Board of Directors of the Syrian British Council. He served as an adviser to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights at the United Nations International Bar Association.
Dr. Ahmad Touma has a BA in dentistry, Damascus University. Dr. Touma was a mosque preacher in the Deir Ezzor province, eastern Syria. He participated in founding the Damascus Declaration for National Democratic Change, and he was elected as a representative for the province of Deir Ezzor
In 2007, Dr. Touma was elected as Secretary of the National Council of the Damascus Declaration. He was the head of the "We are all for the Sham" relief campaign in the eastern region of Syria. Touma is also a former prime minister in the Syrian Interim Government. He has been the Head of the opposition delegation of the Astana talks Syrian revolution forces since 2017.
Hind Kabawat is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Department of Interfaith Dialogue and Conflict Resolution at the Institute of Religions and Diplomacy at George Mason University. Kabawat is a Visiting Fellow at the Harvard Law School of Negotiation Department. She is also the President and a board member of Tastakel, a women’s organization dedicated to using non-violence and dialogue to address the ongoing conflict in Syria.
Mohammed Hosam Hafez (PhD - International Law) is currently the head of QCM Institute “Law, Politics, Society” for Consultations, Studies and Training.
Mr.Hafez was a member of the Syrian opposition negotiations delegation in 2014. Between 2016-2017, he was a member of the High Negotiations Committee and the Head of its Legal Bureau. Mr. Hafez was the head of the Foreign and Diplomatic Affairs Authority in the Syrian Interim Government in 2014 and 2015. He worked as a professor of general international law, international humanitarian law and international human rights law in many academic institutions, including the College of Law - Qatar University. He served as a diplomat at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Syrian embassies in Tehran, London and Yerevan between 1998 and 2012. Earlier, Hafez worked as a lawyer and professor at the Syrian Bar Association in Damascus. He has many publications in international law and international relations in both Arabic and English.

Mr. Anwar al-Bunni is a Syrian human rights lawyer and an activist. Mr. Bunni was a political prisoner.
He is the President of the Syrian Center for Legal Studies and Research. In 2008 and 2009 was awarded the Front Line Award for Human Rights Defenders at Risk by the German Association of Judges. He received the Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law.
Muhammad Amin Qattan has a PhD in Islamic Banking - University of Birmingham, UK. He has a BA in Islamic Economics from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh. He is an economic advisor in several Sharia supervisory bodies in banks and financial investment and Islamic funds around the world. Mr. Qattan is also an academic advisor in a number of Arab and Islamic universities, including Kuwait University, the American University in Cairo, Al-Zaytoonah University in Tunis and Heba University in Syria.
He is an academic and economic consultant in a number of firms in the world, including Malaysia, UAE, UK and Switzerland. He has worked as a consultant and researcher in a number of government agencies in some Arab countries, including Kuwait, Tunisia and Syria. Mr. Qattan is a visiting professor, lecturer and faculty member in a number of Arab, Islamic and global universities.
He is a certified trainer in several Arab and international institutions and companies. He has trained more than 1000 participants in specialized courses around the world. He has authored several books, papers and research in refereed scientific journals.
• He participated in many scientific conferences, forums and events around the world. Qattan also participated in developing curricula for higher studies in some Islamic countries for instance in Syria and Tunisia. He is a supervisor, referee, and discussant of scientific and academic studies, scientific competitions, and research works.
He is also a member of a number of scientific and founding bodies and committees, specialized societies and boards of trustees.
He is an arbitrator in cases involving international commercial arbitration and expert in some international centers.
Ali Bakir is a researcher and political analyst with more than a decade and a half of professional experience. He served as a political advisor for five years in governments. He provides advice to senior officials, decision-makers and stakeholders in governmental and public institutions and private sector institutions in Turkey and in a number of Middle Eastern countries as well. Dr. Bakir is interested in the geopolitical and security developments in the Middle East, the politics of major powers, and the foreign policies of Turkey, Iran and the Gulf Cooperation Council states, in addition to other hot issues. Previously, Dr. Bakir worked as a researcher in the (AIWA) economic / defense group. He is a senior researcher at the International Strategic Research Organization, and works as a coordinator of the Gulf Studies Program at the Middle East Studies Center in Ankara.
He has been a frequent guest on TV political programs and major events in the middle east since 2005. He regularly writes many Arabic, English and Turkish publications. Dr. Bakir participated as an expert in many regional and international conferences and workshops. He has a PhD in political science and international relations. He authored several books and co-authored more than ten books on Turkish, Iranian and Chinese issues
Bakir he is an author on a chapter: “The Evolution of Turkish-Qatari Relations Amidst a Growing Gulf Divide” of an important book, called “A Divided Gulf” published by Palgrave.
Mr. Mahmoud Yonis is the General Manager of Market Insight for Consulting and Strategic Studies company. Mr. Younis has a B.A. in Information Systems from Ajman University of Science and Technology. He is an Internal Evaluator, the EFQM European Association for Institutional Excellence. He is a certified trainer and consultant in the (DiSC) methodology to analyze and evaluate personal behaviors within the labor market. He is a designer of models, strategies and action plans, identifying key institutional performance indicators, designing organizational structures and developing human resources.
Mr. Younis has professional experience with in-depth knowledge of the IT sectors, education, government institutions, non-profit associations, training, human development, and research centers. He also has a wide experience in the retail sector. He designed and implemented many training courses and workshops in various aspects of Soft Skills, and he also matched individual abilities and tendencies with available jobs through advanced global tools such as (DiSC) and some of Thomas International's products.
Dr. Osama al-Kadi is a Syrian-Canadian international economic, administrative and financial advisor. He taught economics and management in American and Emirati universities. Dr. Kadi received the Dar Souad Al-Sabah Prize for Scientific Creativity in 1994. He is the Chairman of the Syria Economy Working Group, which has completed a series of 14 economic reports under the title: "The Economic Map of the New Syria." Dr. Kadi has 34 economic reports, and he also prepared the study of “The Syrian Economic Constitution: Constitutional Proposals”. He was the representative of Syria in all economic conferences of the friends of the Syrian people concerned with the reconstruction and development of Syria. He also has many books, articles and interviews. He publishes his articles in Arab and international media outlets.
